Dr. Anis Ahmad, institute of Biotechnology Unit, Aligarh Muslim University has been conferred the prestigious 2012 Eli Lilly Outstanding Thesis Award of US for his significant contributions in the field of medicinal chemistry. The award carries US $1000 with Lilly Plaque. The award will be given at the J-NOST Conference to be held at Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, Assam during December 15-17, 2012.

Prof. Geeta Rajput, Chairman, Department of Prosthodontics, Dr. Z. A. Dental College, Aligarh Muslim University along with Dr. Shraddha Rathi, Assistant Professor has carried out a maxillofacial rehabilitation of the lost parts of a patient for the first time in Aligarh district.

Dr. Mohammad Ubaidullah Bokhari, Chairman Department of Computer Science and Principal Investigator (PI) of ERP Mission Project, has developed a stream cipher named as “Bokhari Stream Cipher”. Two of his research scholars Faheem Syeed Masoodi and Shadab Alam are working in the field of cryptography and Network Security since last three years and have successfully published their work in reputed journals and conferences around the world.

Prof. Kafeel Ahmad Qasmi, Department of Arabic at the Aligarh Muslim University has been nominated as member of the Academic Council of the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri, Jammu & Kashmir.

Prof. Qasmi is a noted scholar of Arabic and authored a large number of research papers and books. Keeping in view his contributions to academics, the Executive Council of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University has nominated him as a member of the Academic Council of the University.

Prof. Zakia Athar Siddiqui, former Principal, Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University has been appointed as a co-opted member of the Group III, one of the four groups constituted by Chairperson of Committee on National Mission on Teachers and Teaching, Dr. (Smt.) D. Purandeswari, Minsiter of State, HRD to do in-depth and comprehensive deliberations on four selected focus areas elated to teachers and teaching.

Dr. Abdul Malik, Associate Professor and Former Chairman, Department of Agricultural Microbiology, Aligarh Muslim University has been awarded with the prestigious DBT CREST award by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India to visit Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg for a period of 12 months.

Prof. Athar H. Siddiqui, former Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences , Aligarh Muslim University called up on the teachers to evaluate the work of the faculty and plan for its future growth. He was addressing the Silver Jubilee Compendium releasing ceremony of the Faculty of Life Sciences.
