Professor Mohammad Akram, Department of Sociology, Aligarh Muslim University has been conferred “Sulabh Swachhta Samman” by Sulabh International Social Service Organisation at a felicitation programme held at Mavlankar Hall, New Delhi, on 17th September 2016, which coincided National Swachhta Diwas and the birth anniversary of the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.

Book With Contributions Of AMU Faculty Members And Scholars Published

Aligarh Muslim University Faculty members and research scholars associated with the Department of English have recently brought out a volume of critical articles on the British Muslim Fiction. The Volume entitled, ‘Believing and Belonging’ is published by Viva Books, New Delhi and is co-edited by Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai, Director, UGC HRDC, AMU and Professor M Asim Siddiqui, Department of English, AMU.

Prof Naqvi Appointed as Adjunct Faculty in Department of Applied Physics

Prof S Alim Husain Naqvi, Principal Co-ordinator, Centre of Excellence in Materials Sciences (Nanomaterial), Department of Applied Physics has been appointed as an Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Applied Physics. The AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (retd) has approved Prof Naqvi’s empanelment on an Expert Committee recommendation.

Proud Moment for AMU as Prof. Badar Alam Awarded Fulbright SIR Award for 2016-17

The Fulbright Commission, Washington, has nominated Aligarh Muslim University's Department of Commerce's Prof. Badar Iqbal Fulbright SIR Award for the session 2016-17. This is the second time that Prof. Iqbal has won this award. In 2004-05, he was nominated for this award to teach MBA classes for two semesters at University of Claflin, SC, USA.

SPAN interviews AMU Professor, Shahab Fazal, Department of Geography

Prof Shahab Fazal, Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University was recently interviewed by SPAN magazine, a United States of America Embassy publication in India. In the interview, Prof Fazal spoke on the present day challenge for sustainable environmental management in a rapidly urbanizing world. He highlighted the concept of Smart Growth and showed his concern for accelerated land transformation.

AMU Research Scholar Attends South Asia Scholars’ Forum in Bangladesh

Zulfiqar Sheth, a doctoral fellow at Department of Economics, Aligarh Muslim University has participated in "South Asia Research Scholars' Forum” which was held in Bangladesh recently. The forum aimed at “Envisioning the Peaceful and Prosperous Communities in South Asia and Beyond". Sheth was part of a six-member delegation from India that participated in the meet.

AMU Faculty Delivers Talk At Michigan University

Dr. M. Saad Alam, Coordinator, Centre of Advanced Research in Electrified Transportation (CARET), Aligarh Muslim University, delivered a talk on "Cloud-aware Transport Oriented Cities (TOC)" at the University of Michigan, USA.  In his talk, besides focusing on his topic, Dr. Alam urged for collaborative research between AMU and the University of Michigan. Dr. Alam also met with scientists from Hyundai R&D team to expedite the ongoing collaborative research on wireless charging of Electric Vehicles.
