The Fulbright Commission, Washington, has nominated Aligarh Muslim University's Department of Commerce's Prof. Badar Iqbal Fulbright SIR Award for the session 2016-17. This is the second time that Prof. Iqbal has won this award. In 2004-05, he was nominated for this award to teach MBA classes for two semesters at University of Claflin, SC, USA.
Dr. M. Saad Alam, Coordinator, Centre of Advanced Research in Electrified Transportation (CARET), Aligarh Muslim University, delivered a talk on "Cloud-aware Transport Oriented Cities (TOC)" at the University of Michigan, USA. In his talk, besides focusing on his topic, Dr. Alam urged for collaborative research between AMU and the University of Michigan. Dr. Alam also met with scientists from Hyundai R&D team to expedite the ongoing collaborative research on wireless charging of Electric Vehicles.
Prof Shamim Ahmad, Department of Agricultural Economics and Business Management, Aligarh Muslim University presented a research paper in the 19th Conference of Eurasia Business and Economics Society at Istanbul, Turkey on 'Food and Nutrition Security Mission in Asian Countries'.
In this paper, Prof. Ahmad has presented an assessment of the current status of Asian countries and compared it with the overall situation of developed and developing countries. The paper also recommended reforms in food management.
Dr Syed Zia ur Rahman, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, JNMC, AMU, Aligarh was recently invited as a guest speaker at the two-days DIA sponsored conference on “Innovations in Pharmacovigilance – the era of e-PV” held at Holiday Inn, Mumbai.
During the Conference, Dr Rahman was requested to deliver a talk on “Pharmaco Environmentology – Aligning PhV with Environment”.
In his lecture, Dr Rahman talked about latest developments in the field of Environmental Pharmacovigilance of human and veterinary medicines.
Dr. Syed Khurram Nisar, Associate Professor, Department of Physical Education at the Aligarh Muslim University has been selected as an Executive Member of the Association of Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows (India Chapter).
The Association of Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows (ACSF), a non-political, non-profit body, aims at consolidating and channeling the collective strength and energies of commonwealth scholars and fellows across India to the United Kingdom.
Dr. Syyed Asad Ali, Department of Applied Physics, Z.H. College of Engineering & Technology, Aligarh Muslim University participated in the 8th Dresden Symposium on Hazards-Detection and Management organised by the Institute of Engineering Microsystems, University of Dresden, Germany and the International Geo-Research Society (IGRS) at Dresden City Museum, Dresden, Germany.
Prof. Badar Alam Iqbal, Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University has been invited to participate in the first International Conference on Accounting, Management and Innovation in Business, which is being organized by Office of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Somehsara, Guilan, Iran on September 20, 2015.
Prof. Iqbal will also deliver the keynote address at the conference.
