Dr Qazi Fariduddin, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University received the Raman Fellowship of UGC to visit USA for one year under Indo-US 21st Century Knowledge Initiative for conducting advance research in Molecular Biology in relation to Food Security at Michigan State University, USA.

Dr. Fariduddin is the first from AMU to receive this prestigious fellowship. He has already joined Prof Sheng Yang He Lab on December 02, 2013.

AMU Faculty Member Conferred Fellowship of ZSI

Dr. Mohd Kamil Usmani, Associate Professor in Department of Zoology, Aligarh Muslim University delivered a lecture at 24th All India Congress of Zoology at University of Kalyani, West Bengal. He was conferred fellowship of Zoological Society of India by Prof. Rattan Lal Hangloo, Vice-Chancellor, University of Kalyani at the inaugural function. He was also honored with recognition award at valedictory function for his contributions.

 Mr Mohammad Muqeet Khan, UGC BSR Fellow, Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University has been awarded with “Fritz Thyssen Stiftung Award” in the international and interdisciplinary conference on ‘Rurality: New Perspectives and Themes’, held at Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg, Germany.

Setting a precedence of unparallel sense of hospitality, the Aligarh Muslim University teachers would provide lodging facility to the delegates of XXXVII Indian Social Science Congress at their houses.

The Faculty of Social Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University is hosting XXXVII Indian Social Science Congress on the topic ''Building Ecologically Sustainable Society'' from December 27 to 31, 2013. Shri Pranab Mukherjee, President of India is scheduled to grace the inaugural session as chief guest on December 27.

Prof. Kabiruddin, Department of Chemistry, Prof. M. Mursaleen, Department of Mathmatics, Dr. Asad U. Khan, Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit, Prof. M Afzal, Department of Zoology and Mr. M. Abdul Qadeer, Department of Computer Engineering of Aligarh Muslim University have been identified as the most cited author by an international publishing company.

AMU Faculty Elected Secretary, UP Chapter of Radiology Association

 Prof. Mohd. Khalid, Department of Radiodiagnosis, JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University has been elected as Secretary of UP Chapter of Indian Radiology and Imaging Association for next two years at UP State Convention held at Meerut.

Prof. Khalid has already served as State Council Member and as a Scientific Secretary. He has been serving as Vice President of the Association.

Faculty Develops a Stream Cipher

Dr. Mohammad Ubaidullah Bokhari, Chairman Department of Computer Science and Principal Investigator (PI) of ERP Mission Project, has developed a stream cipher named as “Bokhari Stream Cipher”. Two of his research scholars Faheem Syeed Masoodi and Shadab Alam are working in the field of cryptography and Network Security since last three years and have successfully published their work in reputed journals and conferences around the world.

Faculty Nominated as Member of Academic Council of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University

Prof. Kafeel Ahmad Qasmi, Department of Arabic at the Aligarh Muslim University has been nominated as member of the Academic Council of the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri, Jammu & Kashmir.

Prof. Qasmi is a noted scholar of Arabic and authored a large number of research papers and books. Keeping in view his contributions to academics, the Executive Council of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University has nominated him as a member of the Academic Council of the University.

Dr. Abdul Malik, Associate Professor and Former Chairman, Department of Agricultural Microbiology, Aligarh Muslim University has been awarded with the prestigious DBT CREST award by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India to visit Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg for a period of 12 months.
