Dr Dinesh Raj R (Junior Resident, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College—JNMC, Aligarh Muslim University) has won the third place in the ‘Torrent Young Scholar Award 2017’ (Dermatology) competition in the zonal category during the Sixth Derma Fest held at New Delhi. He will now participate in the final round scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad on December 3, 2017.
It is India’s ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’, but a Sri Lankan research scholar in Aligarh Muslim University stood out from the crowd to win the first prize in a speech competition organised by the Faculty of Theology. Mr Azhar engaged the audience with a speech on how ‘cleanliness is important part of religions’. He is pursuing Phd in Sunni Theology.
Neonatal Section, Department of Paediatrics, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University conducted the Divisional NNF Post Graduate (PG) Quiz in Neonatology in which Dr Nishant Tomar and Dr Joyti Kandpal (LLRM Medical College, Meerut) won the first prize while Dr Aditi Das and Dr Mohd Aslam Nadeem (Department of Paediatrics, JNMC) came second.
The Hindustani Music Club, Cultural Education Centre, Aligarh Muslim University recently organized ‘Little Champs 2017: A hunt for little singing prodigy’ at the Kennedy Hall Auditorium.
At least 14 from the 72 participants were selected for the grand finale of the programme, which consisted of three rounds in which the participants were suppose to sing self-choice songs, old melodies and Sufi songs. The finalists were Abid, Haris, Raza, Alviya, Sarah, Sakshi Chauhan, Maryam, Alfifa, Saba, Faiz, Abhishek, Sarfaraz, Sakshi Gupta and Obaid.
The Aligarh Muslim University team comprising of Md Aasif Akhlaque, Asif Khan and Rajnish Jha, which recently participated in the 32nd North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival, Kanpur has won the Quiz Championship of the Festival.
AMU team participated with 30 universities and colleges teams from different parts of North-India. The victorious AMU team will now participate in the National Youth Festival in Kolhapur as one of the favourites to win the Quiz Competition.
The Bridge Course for Graduates of Deeni Madaris, Aligarh Muslim University under the aegis of Centre for Promotion of Educational and Cultural Advancement of Muslims of India (CEPECAMI) recently organised, Essay Writing Competition on the topic of ‘Bridge Course mein mera Ilmi Safar’ (My Educational Journey at Bridge Course).
The objective behind organising this competition was to promote writing abilities in students associated with AMU’s Bridge Course.
The Aligarh Muslim University has announced results of the ‘All India Essay Writing Competition’ organized to mark the 199th birth anniversary of its founder, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. The Topic of the essay was “To fulfill Sir Syed’s dream of making AMU ‘The Oxford of the East’, what steps should AMU take to climb to the top spot in University rankings?”.
The Department of Physiology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University organized a Physiology Quiz competition for the MBBS students.
The competition, which was open to students of 2014 and 2015 batches of MBBS students of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, drew attention of a large number of students who took part in the initial screening round, in which 20 students, 10 from each batch were selected for final rounds.
