Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) research scholar, Anas Shamsi (Department of Biochemistry) pursuing Phd under the supervision of Prof Bilqees Bano attended the International Symposium on Bioorganic Chemistry (ISBOC-11) at the University of Konstanz in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.
Shamsi presented a poster entitled ‘Probing the interaction of anticancer drug temsirolimus with human serum albumin: Molecular docking and spectroscopic insight’ at the symposium.
The faculty members, students and staff of the Department of Biochemistry, Aligarh Muslim University recently held a condolence meeting in the Department premises to mourn the sad demise of Dr Masarrat Ali, who passed away after suffering a massive heart attack after the Friday prayers in San Antonio, Texas, USA, where he has been living for the past two decades. The meeting was presided by Professor Riaz Mahmood, Chairpserson, Department of Biochemistry.
Ms Maryam Khan, Research Scholar at the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Life Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University attended the ‘10th International Conference on Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Science and Stem cell applications’ recently held at Dubai, UAE and presented her research paper.
Professor Hamid Ali has been appointed as the Chairperson, Department of Petroleum Studies, Z H College of Engineering and Technology vice Professor Mohd Kamil; while Professor Moinuddin has been appointed as Chairperson, Department of Bio-Chemistry, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College vice Prof Khursheed Alam.
The Department of Biochemistry, Aligarh Muslim University today started the three-day International Conference on ‘Emerging Trends in Biomedical Sciences’ at the Medical College Auditorium. The conference will have lectures, paper presentations and talks from academicians and scholars from all over India and different parts of the world.
A large group of AMU research scholars from various Departments of Studies in Aligarh Muslim University presented their research papers at an International Conference on Free Radical Biology organized by the Departments of Bio-Sciences and Bio-Engineering, Integral University, Lucknow. About 300 eminent scientists from different countries including USA, UK, Russia, Saudi Arabia and those from different parts of India participated in the conference.
The Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Life Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University has selected two students for the prestigious STEM-ER project of the Ohio State University as part of the Manmohan Singh-Obama knowledge Initiative. Mr. Asim Rizvi, JRF and Khorana Fellow, UN Medicon, USA, FIRS University of Leeds, UK and Ms. Nida Rehmani, Maulana Azad Research Fellow will join the Ohio State University from August 2014.
