Team ‘ZHCET_WARRIORS’ which had Anushka Chawla and Aman Varshney, computer engineering students from the Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) brought laurels by reaching the final round of United HCL Hackathon, hosted at Old Trafford, home to Manchester United Football Club.

The Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor was today present at the ‘Orientation Programme’ for the newly admitted B Tech and B Arch students organized by Zakir Hussain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET).
While welcoming the fresh batch of B Tech and B Arch students, the Vice Chancellor said that since AMU with its distinct culture is unique, the newly admitted students have an onus of carrying forward AMU founder Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s legacy.
The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has established a Centre of Excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics - Education and Research (STEM-ER) in consonance with the Ohio State University (OSU), US, under the ambitious Indo-US 21st Century Knowledge Initiative, earlier known as Obama-Singh Knowledge Initiative and supported by the US-Indo Education Foundation (USIEF). The STEM-ER project aims at training graduate students to become the world class teachers and researchers at the University level.
‘India is emerging as a leading player in terms of internet users and is expected to reach 700 million mark by 2025 in this regard’, said Mr Tanveer Mohammad, Chief Operative Officer (COO), Telenor India. He was addressing the workshop on ‘Digital Office-Prospects & Challenges (DOPC-2016)’, organized by Women’s Polytechnic, Aligarh Muslim University.
Professor Nesar Ahmad, Department of Computer Engineering, Aligarh Muslim University has been appointed as Director, Centre for Promotion of Science, in addition to his own duties, in place of Dr Zeba Zaka-ur-Rab, for a period of one year or until further orders, with immediate effect.
