Cleanliness drives continue in the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) as part of the nation-wide, ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ with the Departments of Economics and English organising cleaning programmes and awareness campaigns.
The Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School (Boys), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is observing ‘Swachchta Pakhwada’ fortnight with its teachers, students and non-teaching staff taking part in the cleanliness drive.
Major S M Mustafa (Retd), Principal of the school said that the cleanliness drive at the Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School is aimed to spread ‘Swachhta’ awareness with students taking a leadership role in community led sanitation initiatives.
Professor Md Abdus Salam from the Department of Economics and Professor Asfar Ali Khan from the Department of Electrical Engineering have been appointed as Officers on Special Duty in the Vice Chancellor’s Office, Aligarh Muslim University. They have been given the charges in addition to their own duties till further orders.
The Zakir Hussain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET), Aligarh Muslim University recently organised ‘ZARF 17’, a cultural and literary festival in the college premises.
Aligarh Muslim University research scholars Mr Talha Akbar and Mr Furqan Khan associated with the Department of Agricultural Economics and Business Management, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences have bagged the Best-Paper-Award at the recently held International Symposium on ‘India's Strategy of Economic Growth and Development: Experiences and Way Forward.’
The Department of Economics in collaboration with the Training and Placement Office (General) recently concluded a seven-day workshop on ‘Ms Excel: Basic to Advance’ for Aligarh Muslim University students.
During the Valedictory Function, Dr Jamil, TPO, Department of Economics pointed out that the Workshop was conducted to enhance capability of students in the field and make them more employable.
Aligarh Muslim University’s Training and Placement Office in collaboration with the Department of Economics has recently inaugurated a seven-day workshop on the theme, ‘MS Excel Basic to Advance’ for the University students. The objective of the workshop is to enhance the capability of students to make them more employable and market ready.
A condolence meeting to mourn the sad demise of Mr.Abdul Raheem, senior programmer, was today held at conference room of the Registrar Office, Administrative Block, Aligarh Muslim University.
While presiding over the meeting, Professor Javed Akhtar, Registrar AMU said that Mr. Abdul Raheem was a person of good character and he was committed to his duties.
