Professor S R Hashim, Chairperson with the Institute of Human Development, Giri Institute of Developmental Studies and Indian Association of Social Science Institutions—IASSI delivered the ‘Sir Syed Memorial Lecture’ on ‘Sir Syed Ahmad Khan: A Visionary with a Mission’ at the Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
The lecture was organised by the Sir Syed Bicentenary Celebrations Committee and the Department of English.

Dr. Aysha Munira Rasheed, Associate Professor in the Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University recently attended an International Conference on Film Studies at London Centre for Interdisciplinary Research, Birkbeck, University of London and presented her research paper on “Female Agency in Vishal Bhadwaj’s Shakespearean Trilogy: Maqbool, Omakara, and Haider - Reading a Film, Watching a Book”.
Noted film and stage actor and director, who is also a Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan recipient, Mr Naseeruddin Shah today delivered the ‘Professor Zahida Zaidi Memorial Lecture’ in Aligarh Muslim University’s Kennedy Hall Auditorium. The programme was organized by University’s Cultural Education Centre.
While talking about the journey from being an AMU student attending the Varsity’s Department of English to his illustrious career, Mr Shah pointed out that he owes his success to Professor Zahida Zaidi.
