Uzma Ajmal, a research scholar in the Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University presented a paper in the 45th national conference the of Rajasthan Geographical Association on “Resources, Population, Regional Planning and Development” held by the Department of Geography, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Her paper on "Neighbourhood Environment: Assessing and Mapping of Vulnerable Neighbourhood in Azamgarh City for Planning" won her the Young Geographer Award.

Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School Observes ‘Swachchta Pakhwada’

The Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School (Boys), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is observing ‘Swachchta Pakhwada’ fortnight with its teachers, students and non-teaching staff taking part in the cleanliness drive.

Major S M Mustafa (Retd), Principal of the school said that the cleanliness drive at the Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School is aimed to spread ‘Swachhta’ awareness with students taking a leadership role in community led sanitation initiatives.

Professor Nizamuddin Khan Delivers Keynote Address At Mayfair College, Moradabad

Professor Nizamuddin Khan associated with the Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University recently presented a paper and delivered a keynote address on ‘Water Resource: Planning and Challenges’ in an International Seminar cum Conference held at Mayfair College in Moradabad.

During the address, Prof Khan pointed out that since water is unevenly distributed, the change in water utilization pattern is leading to negative impact on society and natural environment.

UGC Human Resource Development Centre, AMU Concludes Subject Refresher Course In Languages And Special Winter School On Disaster Management

The UGC Human Resource Development Centre, Aligarh Muslim University recently concluded a Subject Refresher Course in Languages (Arabic, Persian and Urdu) and a Special Winter School on Disaster Management.

Over 90 University and College teachers from various states including Assam, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh were enrolled for these three weeks courses.

AMU Post Doc Fellow Attends 33rd International Geographical Congress, Beijing

AMU Prof Gets Book Published On ‘Population Dynamism And Resource Utilization’

Professor Farasat Ali Siddiqui, Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University recently got three volumes of his book, ‘Population Dynamism and Resource Utilization’ published by the Academic Publications, New Delhi.

The three-volume book is on the scope of population dynamism and resource utilization in geography. The book attempts to give the readers a veritable kaleidoscope of studies in population and its nexus with resource utilization and development by applying a range of methodologies and techniques.

Dept Of Geography, AMU To Organize Workshop On Research Methodology In Social Science

The Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University with a sponsorship of Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi is organizing a 10 days Workshop on Research Methodology in Social Science. The workshop will take place from November 14 to November 24.

Registered social science Phd students of various Indian universities and research institutes will be participating in the workshop.

AMU Researcher Delivers Presentation In HSE Moscow

Aligarh Muslim University’s Department of Geography Researcher, Dr Mohammad Muqeet Khan recently delivered a presentation on ‘Spatial Analysis of Market Infrastructural Facilities and Socio Economic Development in Rural India’ at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE), Moscow, Russia.

Dr Khan was awarded ‘World Bank Sponsorship’ for participation in XVI International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development at HSE, Moscow.
