Two Day National Conference And Workshop Held At AKTC

Inaugural function of a two-day national conference on ‘Determination of Temperament (Mizaj)’ organised by the Department of Tashreeh-wa-Munafeul Aza, Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and a ‘Pre-Conference Workshop on Basal Metabolic Rate and its Measurement’ took place at the auditorium of Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College (AKTC).  
 
The Department of Tashreeh-wa-Munafeul Aza organised the programmes.

Dr B R Ambedkar Hall Starts National Workshop On Research Methodology

Dr B R Ambedkar Hall, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) today started a one-week ‘National Workshop on Research Methodology’ with the inaugural function at the Cultural Hall, Maulana Azad Library.
 
AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor, who attended the function as the chief-guest said that since methodology is crucial for research, one must know how to make systematic plans for conducting research.

GIAN Course Inaugurated At Dept Of Geography

A one-week, Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India sponsored Global Initiative for Academic Network (GIAN) course on ‘Rural Development Challenges’ was inaugurated at Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in which renowned Australian Geographer, Prof Robinson will deliver a series of lectures on ‘Contemporary Rural Developmental Challenges in Modern World.

Prof Abha Lakshmi Singh Delivers Memorial Lecture On Prof Shafi

Prof. Abha Lakshmi Singh, UGC-BSR Fellow and a retired faculty of Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University delivered the first Professor Mohd Shafi Memorial Lecture on his life and work. The lecture was held at the 39th Indian Geographical Conference organized by the Department of Geography, Osmania University, Hyderabad.

Uzma Ajmal, a research scholar in the Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University presented a paper in the 45th national conference the of Rajasthan Geographical Association on “Resources, Population, Regional Planning and Development” held by the Department of Geography, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Her paper on "Neighbourhood Environment: Assessing and Mapping of Vulnerable Neighbourhood in Azamgarh City for Planning" won her the Young Geographer Award.

Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School Observes ‘Swachchta Pakhwada’

The Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School (Boys), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is observing ‘Swachchta Pakhwada’ fortnight with its teachers, students and non-teaching staff taking part in the cleanliness drive.

Major S M Mustafa (Retd), Principal of the school said that the cleanliness drive at the Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School is aimed to spread ‘Swachhta’ awareness with students taking a leadership role in community led sanitation initiatives.

Professor Nizamuddin Khan Delivers Keynote Address At Mayfair College, Moradabad

Professor Nizamuddin Khan associated with the Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University recently presented a paper and delivered a keynote address on ‘Water Resource: Planning and Challenges’ in an International Seminar cum Conference held at Mayfair College in Moradabad.

During the address, Prof Khan pointed out that since water is unevenly distributed, the change in water utilization pattern is leading to negative impact on society and natural environment.

UGC Human Resource Development Centre, AMU Concludes Subject Refresher Course In Languages And Special Winter School On Disaster Management

The UGC Human Resource Development Centre, Aligarh Muslim University recently concluded a Subject Refresher Course in Languages (Arabic, Persian and Urdu) and a Special Winter School on Disaster Management.

Over 90 University and College teachers from various states including Assam, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh were enrolled for these three weeks courses.
