The Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School (Boys), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is observing ‘Swachchta Pakhwada’ fortnight with its teachers, students and non-teaching staff taking part in the cleanliness drive.
Major S M Mustafa (Retd), Principal of the school said that the cleanliness drive at the Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School is aimed to spread ‘Swachhta’ awareness with students taking a leadership role in community led sanitation initiatives.
Professor Nizamuddin Khan associated with the Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University recently presented a paper and delivered a keynote address on ‘Water Resource: Planning and Challenges’ in an International Seminar cum Conference held at Mayfair College in Moradabad.
During the address, Prof Khan pointed out that since water is unevenly distributed, the change in water utilization pattern is leading to negative impact on society and natural environment.
The UGC Human Resource Development Centre, Aligarh Muslim University recently concluded a Subject Refresher Course in Languages (Arabic, Persian and Urdu) and a Special Winter School on Disaster Management.
Over 90 University and College teachers from various states including Assam, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh were enrolled for these three weeks courses.
Dr Mahvish Anjum, Post Doctorate Fellow, associated with the Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University recently attended the 33rd International Geographical Congress held in Beijing, China where she presented a paper titled, ‘Spatial Analysis on Occupational Health of Unorganised Sector Workers in Ambedkar nagar District, India.’
