To curb the menace of ragging and to make students aware of their rights, the Department of Physical Education, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised a legal workshop on ‘Ragging and University Traditions.’
A 17-member delegation from the University of Muhammadiya Malang, East Java, Indonesia today visited the Aligarh Muslim University on an educational tour and for a possible educational tie-up with AMU.
Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor today in a meeting with all the Deans of Faculties, Principals of Colleges, Chairmen of Departments, Directors and Coordinators of Institutes/Centres/Units, elected members of Executive Council, Finance Officer, Controller of Examinations, Dean Students Welfare and Proctor said that AMU will have no compromises on criminals and there will be no withdrawal of rustications.
Wings of Desire, an NGO run by students of Aligarh Muslim University today organized a workshop on ‘Anti Child Labour’ at the Department of Education, AMU.
Engineer Ahmad Rais Siddiqui, famous Radio and TV Commentator, Social Worker and the Chief Guest on the occasion said that the problem of Child Labour cannot be eliminated at once rather it needs to be countered gradually and in an efficient manner.
The Department of Law, Malappuram Centre, Aligarh Muslim University recently concluded the National Moot Court competition, which was organised in memory of late Mr Midhun Lukose, Malappuram Centre student, who passed away in the last semester.

The Murshidabad Centre of Aligarh Muslim University will organise an International Seminar on ‘Contemporary Issues and Challenges in Management, Law and Education’ on February 26, 2017. Delegates and scholars from different parts of the country and abroad will attend the programme to give deliberations and their views on the topic of the Seminar.
Faculties, professionals, research scholars, writers and experts associated with the field of management, law and education will also attend the seminar.
At least 11 Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University students Sunil Kumar Nagar, Asma Sultana, Amir Suhail, Md Zulqarnain Alam, Shahnaz Ansari, Sandeep Singh, Arif Nizamuddin Khan, Diwakar Kumar, Nidhi Yadav, Vidhudhi Meha and Saima J A Siddiqui have qualified the UPPCS (Judicial Services) examination 2015, result of which has been announced by the commission on August 5, 2016.
