Bringing string of accolades to the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), one after the other; Mr Shah Faaiz Alam, a Mechanical Engineering Postgraduate student of the Zakir Hussain College of Engineering and Technology, AMU has been selected by the Indian Air Force under Permanent Commission for the Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical) Branch.
Mechanical Engineering graduate, Mr Syed Jishan Ahmed has qualified the UPSC’s Combined Defence Service (CDS) Examination, 2016. Mr Ahmad, who has secured all-India 70th rank to be selected for Indian Military Academy was preparing for the Exam at the Aligarh Muslim University’s Residential Coaching Academy (RCA).
On the success, Mr Ahmad has thanked the RCA Library, which provided him with all the books and study material to prepare for the exam.
Z H College of Engineering and Technology’s Department of Mechanical Engineering Phd scholars, Mr Siddharth Bhardwaj, Mr Mohd Mukhtar Alam and Mr Masood Ashraf have been awarded Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for a period of 2(+1) years.
The Aligarh Educational Endowment Fund (AEEF) Satyendra Kumar Kashyap scholarships were recently awarded to B Tech (Mechanical Engineering) students Harsh Gupta, Mohd Aaquib Ansari and Anirudh Pratap Singh during a function held at the AMU Alumni Affairs Committee Office.
Addressing the gathering, Prof M M Sufyan Beg, Principal, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology praised the alumni for their sheer love and commitment towards the University.

Er Abdul Jabbar recently took over the charge of Workshop Superintendent, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Z H College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University. Er Jabbar did his B Tech in Mechanical Engineering from AMU in 1996 and later worked with the NSIC as a Deputy Manager.
A two-day National Conference on “Mechanical Engineering – Ideas, Innovations and Initiative” was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Aligarh Muslim University. The objective was to provide a forum for researchers, academicians and professionals from industries to interact, exchange ideas and share knowledge with a view to open and promote new vistas in recent developments in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
