RDA Gets New Office Bearers

Dr Abdullah (Department of Community Medicine) has been elected as the President for Resident Doctors Association (RDA), Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), AMU after the announcement of RDA election results on August 19. Dr Deepak Agarwal (Department of Medicine) and Dr Mohammad Talha (Department of Pathology) have been elected as Vice President and Treasurer respectively.

Prof Mujahid Beg Appointed As Chairperson, Dept Of Medicine

Professor Mujahid Beg has been appointed as Chairperson, Department of Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University for a period of three years, with effect from 12.05.2017 vice Professor M R Ajmal (attaining the age of superannuation) or till the final outcome of the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.

Dept Of Pediatrics Organises ‘Annual Baby Show’

The Department of Pediatrics, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University recently organised the ‘Annual Baby Show’ to sensitize masses towards child health. Children in the age group of 0-5 years escorted by their wards took part in the competition.

New Oxygen Manifold Unit Inaugurated

Recently established Oxygen Manifold Unit has been inaugurated at the J. N. Medical College Hospital, Aligarh Muslim University.

Dr Obaid A Siddiqui, DMS, Gas Plant informed that the manifold unit, which is an  extension of central gas plant at JNMC, will provide 24 hours Oxygen supply to the critically ill patients of Respiratory Disease Ward, Critical Care Ward and Cardiac Care Unit. He hoped that the manifold unit would prove to be helpful in improving patient care in the concerned units.

Prof Naeem Develops Unique Medicine To Cure Diabetes

In a rare achievement, Professor Naeem Ahmad Khan associated with the Department of Ilmul Advia, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University has developed a first of it’s kind medicine, which will cure diabetes by regenerating the primary function of beta islet cells to store and release insulin.

AMU Alumnus Delivers Lecture on ‘Acute Coronary Syndrome’

Dr Shamim A Khan, an alumnus of AMU and presently working in Stony Brook University Hospital of New York, USA, delivered a lecture on “Acute Coronary Syndrome” at the Department of Medicine, JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He discussed latest techniques and interventions in patients developing heart attack.
