The inaugural function of the Ortho Alumni Scientific Meet-2008 organized by the Department of Orthopedics, J N Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University turned out to be an emotional and nostalgic reunion, as many batch mates met after a long time and emotions ran high.

Dr Arshad Ahmed and Dr Md Ishtiyak, final year students of M S Orthopaedics (Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College-JNMC, Aligarh Muslim University-AMU) won the Orthopaedic Quiz Competition organised by UP Orthopaedic Association in its Mid-Term Symposium-2017 at the Hotel Abha Regency, Aligarh.
The competition had eight teams including King George's Medical University, Lucknow and Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University. All the teams were from Uttar Pradesh based medical colleges.
A team of USA based Cure International with Mr Roger Spoelman (President and CEO), Mr Brian Van Hall (Chief Operating Officer) and Mr Scott Reichenbach (Clubfoot Operations Director) visited the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University.
Professor Naiyer Asif has been appointed as Chairman, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, J N Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University for a period of three years, vice Professor Mazhar Abbas. Professor Asif’s appointment is coming into effect today.
Dr Latif Zafar Jilani, Associate Professor, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University recently received the second best paper award during the Dr Robert Bauze Gold Medal session held at the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA) Trauma and Infection Meeting at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The award carries a cash prize of 200 US$, a certficate and a memento.
Dr Mohd Faizan, Assistant Professor, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University recently received the second best prize for one of his papers presented at the ‘National Clubfoot Conference,’ GB Pant Hospital, New Delhi.
Dr Faizan had presented two papers at the conference including the winning paper entitled ‘Comparison of Accelerated and Standard Ponseti methods in clubfoot management,’ for which he received Rs 3000 as prize money.
Inaugurating the UPOA PG Instructional Course 2013 organized by the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah, Vice Chancellor, said that this course would be beneficial for the PG students and they will be able to use the refreshed knowledge in providing better treatment to the patients. He said that he was primarily focusing on improvement of health facility at the JN Medical College.
