Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor today in a meeting with all the Deans of Faculties, Principals of Colleges, Chairmen of Departments, Directors and Coordinators of Institutes/Centres/Units, elected members of Executive Council, Finance Officer, Controller of Examinations, Dean Students Welfare and Proctor said that AMU will have no compromises on criminals and there will be no withdrawal of rustications.
The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has established a Centre of Excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics - Education and Research (STEM-ER) in consonance with the Ohio State University (OSU), US, under the ambitious Indo-US 21st Century Knowledge Initiative, earlier known as Obama-Singh Knowledge Initiative and supported by the US-Indo Education Foundation (USIEF). The STEM-ER project aims at training graduate students to become the world class teachers and researchers at the University level.
“The results of Physics researches in the field of Neutrinos generate from the India based Neutrino Observatory would provide a significant impact in the sphere of the cutting edge scientific research”, according to Prof. Takaaki Kajita, Nobel laureate in Physics and a professor at the University of Tokyo, Japan.
Prof. Kajita was delivering his inaugural lecture at a five-day International Workshop on “The Frontiers of Electroweak Interaction of Leptons and Hadrons” organized by the Department of Physics, Aligarh Muslim University.
The Aligarh Muslim University will confer the Doctorate in Science, honoris causa, on the noted physicist and Nobel laureate Professor Takaaki Kajita of Japan at its 64th Annual Convocation scheduled on November 1, 2016. Aligarh Muslim University’s Department of Physics in collaboration with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) today organized a seminar and exhibition to celebrate sixty years of Government of India’s Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).

One of the largest of the USA, Ohio State University (OSU) and the Aligarh Muslim University has jointly started a research project STEM-ER under which four students of AMU will get postgraduate degree from Ohio University and Ph.D. from Aligarh Muslim University. The joint project became functional today when a four-member delegation of Ohio University visited AMU.
