AMU Scholar Attends Scotish Varsity Under Newton-Bhabha Research Fellowship

Aligarh Muslim University’s Senior Research Fellow associated with the Department of Botany, Ms Ambreen Asif is attending the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom for an advance research in ‘Genetic Mapping’ after being awarded the prestigious ‘Newton-Bhabha Research Fellowship’. Ms Asif is working under the supervision of Professor Adam Price in Scotland.

She is pursuing Phd in AMU with specialisation in Genetics and Cytogenetics under the supervision of Prof M Y K Ansari.

Dr Shahi Receives Award For Contribution In Biomedical Sciences

Dr Mehdi Hayat Shahi, Assistant Professor associated with the Interdisciplinary Brain Research Centre, Faculty of Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University has been awarded Mrs Farha Deeba Haq award for outstanding contribution in the field of biomedical sciences. Dr Shahi has been awarded by the Indian Academy of Biomedical Sciences during the 6th Annual Meeting of Indian Academy of Biomedical Sciences and International Conference at Bhavnagar in Gujarat.

AMU Starts Three-Week Training Program In Application Of Remote Sensing And GIS In Natural Resource Management

A three-week training program in Application of Remote Sensing and GIS in Natural Resource Management has been inaugurated in UGC-HRDC, Aligarh Muslim University. The program is funded by NRDMS division of Department of Science and Technology (DST).

About 40 scholars from different universities, which includes university teachers, post-doctoral scholars and research scholars from Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, West Bengal, Meghalaya, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh are participating in the programme.

Project on Safeguarding of Water Resources

The Indo-European Union Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India has initiated a project to address the municipal wastewater treatment using low cost innovative technologies such as anaerobic - aerobic combinations while considering the green and sustainable approaches. The project will be conducted by a consortium of 21 partners including 11 institutions and organizations from India and 10 from European countries.
