As the newly admitted B A LLB students gear up to begin their academic journey in the Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), they attended an orientation programme for a formal introduction with the faculty members and with the ethos of the institution.
On the occasion, AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor pointed out that India Today has ranked AMU’s Faculty of Law as the second best faculty in India.
The Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor today inaugurated the VoIP (Voice on Internet Protocol) enabled upgraded EPABX by dialling a telephone using IP phone at the Selection Committee Room of the Administrative Block.
EPABX, which is installed at the Telephone Department, provides telephone connectivity to various departments, colleges and schools associated with the University.
Prof. Tariq Mansoor, Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University today held a meeting with the University officials in the Conference room of the Administrative Block.
In the meeting, Prof. Mansoor congratulated the University community for the upgraded ranking of the University’s Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Faculty of Law, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology and the Department of Fine Arts in the College Survey 2017 conducted by India’s prestigious magazine India Today.
Prof. Faizan Mustafa, eminent jurist and senior most professor of Aligarh Muslim University’s Faculty of Law, was yesterday unanimously elected as the Vice-President-President of Shastri Institute of Canadian- Indian Studies which was founded in Canada by the Government of Canada in the memory of former Prime MIistr of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri. The institute is bi-national body of two governments and has 91 universities as its members. It provides fellowships to scholars and facilitates exchange of experts.
The Training and Placement Office (General), Aligarh Muslim University organised a one day workshop on 'Career in Intellectual Property Laws in India, Career in Taxation Laws in India, Soft Skills of a Good Lawyer and Career Options available to a Law Graduate', in collaboration with the Training and Placement Office, Department of Law under Project Abhimanyu.
The Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University today started the 2nd Sir Syed National Moot-Court Competition 2017, in which Hon'ble Mr Justice B Amit Sthalekar - Allahabad High Court was present as the Chief Guest.
While delivering his address, Mr Justice B Amit Sthalekar said that let us always remember the work of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, one of the architects of modern India, who recognized the critical role of education in the empowerment of the poor and backward.
India Today, a reputed magazine of India, has given the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College of the Aligarh Muslim University at 12th rank in its “India’s Best Colleges 2016” Ranking, which it conducted jointly with the Nielsen Company. In the same ranking in 2015, the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College adorned the 14th place.
It may be noted that only two medical colleges from Uttar Pradesh have been given place in the ranking with the King George Medical College, Lucknow at first position in Uttar Pradesh.
The Law Society, Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University organized second “Gavel’s Buzz”, the annual law festival consisting of various events, including Creative Writing Competition and Essay Writing Competition.
In Comment Writing Competition, Mr Mohd Mutahir and Mr Sajid Reyaz received first and second prize respectively while third prize went to Mr. Utkarsh Srivastava.
