Meet On Autism And Other Developmental Disorders A Clinical Approach held in JNMC

There is a dire need to raise awareness about autism and developmental disorders, said speakers at the ‘Combined Clinical Meet’, Faculty of Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). The meet on ‘Autism and other Developmental Disorders: A Clinical Approach’ was conducted under the aegis of ‘Aligs Academic Enrichment Programme’ (AAEP).
 
Dr Jyotsana Nair (Director, Psychiatric Program, Burrell Behaviour Health, Missouri, USA) delivered the main lecture.

Prof. Satish Chandra Sharma is the new Dean, Faculty of Medicine

Prof Satish Chandra Sharma, Department of Oto-Rhino Laryngology (ENT) has been appointed as Dean, Faculty of Medicine for a period of two years with effect from October 22, 2017.
 
Prof Sharma has also been entrusted with the responsibility to look after the work of Principal, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, in addition to his own duties, till further order with effect from the above mentioned date.

Cure International Team Visits Dept Of Orthopaedic Surgery, JNMC

A team of USA based Cure International with Mr Roger Spoelman (President and CEO), Mr Brian Van Hall (Chief Operating Officer) and Mr Scott Reichenbach (Clubfoot Operations Director) visited the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University.

JNMC Conducts First Double Valve Replacement Surgery

The Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC ) has more reasons to cheer as the first double valve replacement surgery was successfully done by a team of JNMC surgeons headed by Prof M H Beg (Chairperson, Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery) on 24-year-old, Yogesh, who was admitted with complaints of difficulty in breathing.

AMUTA Organises Iftar At AMU Staff Club

The Office bearers and the Members of the Executive Committee of Aligarh Muslim University Teachers Association (AMUTA) recently organised Iftar at the AMU Staff Club, where the Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor with his wife Dr Hameeda Tariq and AMU Pro Chancellor, Nawab Ibne Said Khan of Chhatari and guests from various departments, faculties and offices of the university broke their day long fast in congregation.

Dental College Surgeons Successfully Remove Huge Dermoid Cyst From Patient’s Neck

 A team of surgeons led by Dr G S Hashmi, Chairperson, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr Z A Dental College, Aligarh Muslim University have successfully removed a huge dermoid cyst, a female patient was suffering with for the past two years.

The cyst was over the patient’s neck, extending inside her mouth causing swelling, difficulty in breathing, elevation of tongue and narrowing of airway. The team of surgeons said that the patient was also suffering with a compression of voice box.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University today observed the ‘International Nurses Day’ celebrations in which Professor Tariq Mansoor, Principal, JNMC and Vice Chancellor designate attended the function as the Chief Guest, while renowned paediatrician Dr Hamida Tariq and Professor M Amanullah Khan, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, JNMC were the Guests of Honour.

Pulmonology And ID (P&ID) Clinic Observes ‘World Asthma Day’

To mark the ‘World Asthma Day’, the Pulmonology and ID (P&ID) Clinic, Department of Paediatrics, JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University recently spent a week to create awareness of Asthma in masses through different constructive activities.  

Professor Farzana K Beig, Incharge, P&ID Clinic informed that a free check-up and asthma awareness camp was organized in a Aligarh based school, in which children and teachers were given basic information about causes and symptoms of asthma.
