Sri Lankan Student Wins Swachhta Pakhwada Speech Competition

 It is India’s ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’, but a Sri Lankan research scholar in Aligarh Muslim University stood out from the crowd to win the first prize in a speech competition organised by the Faculty of Theology. Mr Azhar engaged the audience with a speech on how ‘cleanliness is important part of religions’. He is pursuing Phd in Sunni Theology.

The Department of Psychology, Aligarh Muslim University has concluded the National Conference on ‘Professionalising psychology in meeting contemporary needs and challenges’. The Valedictory Function was held at the Arts Faculty Lounge.

While presiding over the Valedictory Session of the programme, AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (Veteran) said that it is the best to sleep over problems and live a stress free life.

Faculty Of Theology Organises National Seminar On Muslim Personal Law And Constitution Of India

The Faculty of Theology, Aligarh Muslim University today organised a National Seminar on ‘Muslim Personal Law and Constitution of India’.

Presiding over the Inaugural Function of the Seminar, AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah (Veteran) said that since India is a secular country, where people follow various faiths and personal laws. “Therefore, following a personal law of a particular religion or the common civil law in certain matters like marriages and divorces is entirely personal to any citizen,” said the Vice Chancellor.
