The Bengali Students’ Association of the Aligarh Muslim University recently organised a programme at the Strachey Hall of the Sir Syed Hall to mark the International Mother Language Day. Students of various linguistic backgrounds of India and the world attended the programme.
During the programme, Professor Samina Khan, Department of English, AMU talked about the significance of mother tongue in retaining one’s own culture and language. She also spoke on the rich cultural and linguistic diversity in India and the AMU campus.
AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Brigadier S Ahmad Ali (Veteran) recently delivered a ‘Motivational Lecture’ on ‘Role of Time Management in Career Building’. The programme was organized by the Coaching and Guidance Cell of Sir Syed Hall (South), Aligarh Muslim University.
During his address, Brigadier Ali pointed out that the real challenge about time management is actually managing self.
Addressing the Annual Hall Function “Oquab-e-Sir Syed” of the Sir Syed Hall (North) at the Aligarh Muslim University, Mr. Hasan Mahmood Mohammed Al Jawarneh, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to India, said that this University is globally known for teaching various subjects and disciplines to students coming from different parts of the world. He said that there were a number of students from Jordan receiving education at AMU and this academic relation will develop India-Jordan relationship in different fields.
The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah today launched the four month long plantation drive today at Sir Syed House as a mark of World Environment Day. The Vice Chancellor and his wife, Mrs. Sabiha Shah today planted a sapling while commencing the plantation drive launched by Eco-Club with the support of Department of Land, Gardens and Parks of the Aligarh Muslim University.
The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah launched the WiFi connectivity at the S. S. Hall (North). In a motivational speech, General Shah urged the students to become proficient in English speaking as it was the key to success in life. So, they should excel in English communication. Lt. Gen. Shah said that he had joined the University with a mission to provide better academic environment. Every student should maintain discipline. He called on the students to get equipped with the latest knowledge to face challenges of modern times.
