Advance Centre For Women’s Studies Inaugurates 10-day ‘Research Methodology Workshop’

The Advance Centre for Women’s Studies, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) today inaugurated a 10-day ‘Research Methodology Workshop’ sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR).  

Delivering the keynote address, Prof Nishi Pandey, an eminent educationist from the University of Lucknow said that it is imperative for researchers to go beyond authorized, recognized and generally accepted theories and look for new things.

AMU Women's College Celebrates its Founder's Day

The Women’s College of the Aligarh Muslim University today celebrated its Founder’s Day.

Mr. Syed Shahid Mehdi, former Vice Chancellor of the Jamia Millia Islamia was the chief guest and AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah presided over the function. Brig. (Retd.) S. Ahmad Ali, Pro-Vice Chancellor also graced the occasion.

The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Dr. Noor Mohammad today felicitated Ms. Alishah Ibkar with Papa Mian Padma Bhushan Award (Best Girl), Rubia Zulfiqar with Mrs. M.J. Haider Academic Memorial Award and Ms. Rumisha Yousuf Sheikh with Dr. Zakir Husain Silver Medal for their outstanding performance in academic and extracurricular activities at the Women’s College auditorium.

Geology Lab Inaugurated at Women's College

A state-of-the-art laboratory was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Prof. Sibghatullah Farooqui at the newly established Geology section of the Women’s College. Dr. Liaqat A. K. Rao, Chairman, Department of Geology, Prof. Mahshar Raza, Dr. Shadab Khurshid along with other senior faculty members of the Department of Geology, as well as teachers and students of Women’s College were present on this occasion.

Canadian Librarian Visits Women’s College Library

Mr. Qazi Abdus Salaam, former Librarian of the Toronto Public Library, the world's busiest urban public library system and the biggest library in Canada, visited the library of Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University on the invitation of the Women’s College Library Committee.

The Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University, organized two lectures to commemorate the 194th birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the founder of Aligarh Muslim University. Prof. Shan Mohammad, Director, Sir Syed Academy and Prof. M. Shafey Kidwai, Department of Mass Communication delivered their lectures, before a large audience in the Women’s College auditorium.

Women's College Organized 4-Day Workshop On ‘Traditional & Contemporary Art of India’

A four-day workshop on ‘Traditional and Contemporary Art of India’ organized by the Fine Arts Section of Women's College, Aligarh Muslim University in collaboration with the State Lalit Kala Akademi, Lucknow, UP, was inaugurated yesterday.

While presenting the presidential remarks, AMU Vice Chancellor Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis hoped that the workshop would establish congenial relationship between art and the art lovers and it would help students and working artists to understand the delicacies of the art.
