“Innovation Council” established at AMU

The Executive Council of the Aligarh Muslim University has decided to establish a university level Innovation Council under the Chairmanship of Pro-Vice Chancellor, Brigadier (Retd.) Syed Ahmad Ali. Five Deans of faculties will be the members. The meeting of the Executive Council was chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah.

The University Innovation Council will create the needed intellectual and scientific temper to foster an atmosphere of innovation in all departments besides creating and championing innovation initiatives in all faculties. It would also identify ideas to innovate and develop collaborative initiatives with other institutions and facilitate such initiatives from citizens in the region, students, researchers and teachers of AMU. The Innovation Council will encourage interdisciplinary and globally competitive approaches for innovation.

The Innovation Council may establish a “University Innovation Cluster” to spur innovative activity in the University.
