AMU To Convert Into Green Campus
To convert Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) as a “Green Campus”, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has granted a project on a proposal by Dr. Mohd Rihan (Member –in-Charge, Electricity).
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has sanctioned a grant of Rs 5,00,000 for AMU to go Green.  Darashaw and Co Pvt. Ltd, the consulting firm has organised an interaction session in the conference hall of the University administrative block of AMU, to take inputs from the key stake holders as per the process defined by the MNRE.
Energy audit, water audit report has to be prepared and based on that Detailed Project Report (DPR) and Master Plan will be prepared by the consultant. The target is to achieve reduction in dependence on conventional energy sources by 20% in the next five years.
The meeting with the key-stake holders took place under the Chairmanship of Prof Tabassum Shahab Pro Vice Chancellor AMU. Deans of faculties, Finance Officer, All Member In-charges, Provosts were also present the meeting.
