AMU Faculty Attends International Conference
Dr. M. Saad Alam, Coordinator, Centre of Advanced Research in Electrified Transportation (CARET), Aligarh Muslim University, recently attended the 2016 IEEE International Transportation Electrification Conference (ITEC), held near Ford Motor Company Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, USA and also chaired a session.
The conference, which is held annually, has given a boost to the global electric transportation research. The conference focused on components, systems, standards, and grid interface technologies, related to efficient power conversion for all types of electrified transportation, including electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (EVs, HEVs, and PHEVs) besides heavy-duty, rail and off-road vehicles, airplanes and ships. ITEC is aimed at helping the industry in the transition from conventional vehicles to advanced electrified vehicles.
Dr. Alam said that the ITEC conference is the converging venue for the premier automotive Industry and global academic experts in the area of hybrid, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
Dr. Alam also attended the IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification Editorial Board meeting held to discuss the futuristic Research and Development activities around the globe.
