AMU Scholar Attends International Conference At Dubai
Ms Maryam Khan, Research Scholar at the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Life Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University attended the ‘10th International Conference on Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Science and Stem cell applications’ recently held at Dubai, UAE and presented her research paper.
In her research paper entitled ‘Immobilization of enzymes on Graphene based Nanocomposites’, Ms Khan stated that Graphene based nanocomposites act as versatile carriers for high yield immobilization and stabilization of β-galactosidase. She said that Graphene has a honey comb like structure, which hence provides a large surface area for efficient immobilization of enzymes.
Ms Khan has earlier been awarded third prize in scientific poster presentation in International Conference held at Department of Biochemistry and second prize in Science model competition held at Department of Physics, AMU as part of National Science Day celebrations. She has also received Maulana Azad National fellowship for her academic achievements.
Ms Khan is pursuing Phd under the supervision of Prof Qayyum Hussain at the Department of Biochemistry, AMU.
