AMU Vice Chancellor Inaugurates Voice On Internet Protocol Enabled Upgraded EPABX In Administrative Block’s Selection Committee Room

AMU VC Prof Tariq Mansoor Inaugurating The Upgraded EPABX Facility

The Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor today inaugurated the VoIP (Voice on Internet Protocol) enabled upgraded EPABX by dialling a telephone using IP phone at the Selection Committee Room of the Administrative Block.

EPABX, which is installed at the Telephone Department, provides telephone connectivity to various departments, colleges and schools associated with the University.  

This internal telephone facility, which started in 1965 with a system of 50 lines only; later, kept on expanding continuously and now with the installation of the state-of-art EPABX system in the University, it is now possible to provide facilities through intranet of the university in all locations including the Ambedkar Hall, Faculty of Law and Sherwani Hall.  

After the inauguration, Professor Qazi Mazhar Ali, through a power point presentation explained how the new upgraded EPABX will be an expenditure saving system. Mr Deepak Mittal later demonstrated the new facilities.

Faculty of Law’s Dean Professor Javaid Talib; Controller of Examination, Prof Yusufuzzaman Khan; Director Computer Centre, Dr Parvez Mahmood Khan; Provost Abdullah Hall, Prof Romana Khan; OSDs of Vice Chancellor Office, Prof Asfar Ali Khan and Prof Abdussalam; Professor Omar Farooq; Prof Mohd Arif, Prof Abdul Baqi and other dignitaries of the University also attended the programme.
