AMUTA Organises Iftar At AMU Staff Club
The Office bearers and the Members of the Executive Committee of Aligarh Muslim University Teachers Association (AMUTA) recently organised Iftar at the AMU Staff Club, where the Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor with his wife Dr Hameeda Tariq and AMU Pro Chancellor, Nawab Ibne Said Khan of Chhatari and guests from various departments, faculties and offices of the university broke their day long fast in congregation.
OSD’s to the Vice Chancellor, Prof Asfar Ali Khan and Prof Abdus Salam were also present.
Maghrib prayer followed the Iftar feast at the Tennis Lawn of the Staff Club. On the Occasion, AMUTA members also presented a memento to the Vice Chancellor.
Expressing happiness on the presence of the Vice Chancellor during the Iftar, Professor Mujahid Beg, President, AMUTA said that it is for the first time that a former Secretary of the Teachers Association has been appointed as the University’s Vice Chancellor. He added that in Professor Mansoor’s tenure as the Vice Chancellor, the AMU community can expect the best for the University.
Mr Mustafa Zaidi, AMUTA Hony. Secretary further pointed out that with Prof Mansoor’s appointment as the Vice Chancellor, the AMU fraternity can breathe fresh air and expectations of best things to come will be realised.
Meanwhile, Dr Ashraf Mateen, Joint Secretary, AMUTA also said that Prof Tariq Mansoor’s term will prove out to be the best for the teaching fraternity, students and non-teaching staff of AMU.
Professor Amanullah Khan, Dean, Faculty of Medicine and Principal, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) was present on the occasion. Mr Naseem Ahmad Khan, Dr Wasif Mohammad Ali, Dr Obaid Ahmed Siddiqui and other members of the University’s Executive Council also attended the Iftar.
Dr Azam Mir, Vice President, Old Boys Association; Prof Arif Islam and Prof Ziauddin were also present.
