Book With Contributions Of AMU Faculty Members And Scholars Published

Aligarh Muslim University Faculty members and research scholars associated with the Department of English have recently brought out a volume of critical articles on the British Muslim Fiction. The Volume entitled, ‘Believing and Belonging’ is published by Viva Books, New Delhi and is co-edited by Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai, Director, UGC HRDC, AMU and Professor M Asim Siddiqui, Department of English, AMU.

 An eminent British fiction scholar, Dr Claire Chambers, University of York, UK, has contributed foreword to this volume, acclaiming it as ‘A collection welcome onto the world stage of Muslim literary studies.’

 The 146 page book is a study evaluating the works of contemporary British Muslim novelists – Leila Aboulela, Robin Yasin-Kassab, Monica Ali, Qaisra Shahraz, Mohsin Hamid and Sarfaraz Manzoor.

 Among the contributors to the volume are Professor Massodul Hasan, Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai , Dr Ayesha Munira, Dr Nazia Hasan , Dr Md Sajidul Islam, Dr A K Muneer, Mr Sujan Mondal and Ms Sadaf Husain (all associated with the Department of English, AMU). The book also has contributions by Dr Shuby Abidi, Jamia Millia Islamia and Dr Rafat Ali, Jadavpur University.
