Books By Prof Abu Sufiyan Islahi Released During Function At Dept Of Arabic

Six books authored by Prof Abu Sufiyan Islahi (Department of Arabic, Aligarh Muslim University—AMU) were released in a special function held at the Department of Arabic.

Prof Islahi’s Kitab-e-Tatbir, Kitabiyat-e-Quran, Idara-e- Aligarh Muslim University ke Mashaheer-e-Quraniyat, Mutala-e-Shibli, Sir Syed Ka Tasavvur-e-Saqafat and Paba Rakab, were released by Prof Tabassum Shahab (AMU Pro-Vice Chancellor), Prof M Rashid Nadvi, Prof M Zahid, Prof Abdul Bari, Dr Shababuddin and Mr Habibur Rahman Chighani.    

While presiding over the function, Prof Tabassum Shahab (AMU Pro-Vice Chancellor) applauded Prof Islahi for putting in efforts of producing literature on AMU founder, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and the Holy Quran.

He added that we must ponder on what we can contribute to society. “The University stands proud of Prof Islahi’s contribution to AMU in particular and the society in general,” said the Pro-Vice Chancellor.

Prof Masood Ahmad (Department of Biochemistry) said that Prof Islahi’s works are well researched with primary sources.

“Prof Islahi has written these books with great understanding of topics and deep scholarship,” said Prof Tauqeer Alam Falahi (Dean, Faculty of Theology). 


Prof Obaidullah Fahad Falahi gave analysis of Prof Islahi’s works, while Prof Mohd Yasin Mazhar Siddiqui said that Prof Islahi’s Mutala-e-Shibli will become pivotal work on Shibli Nomani.

While giving his views on Sir Syed Ka Tasavvur-e-Saqafat, Prof A R Kidwai said that the book will bring Sir Syed’s works in literary circles. Dr Mohd Zaki Kirmani said that Paba Rakab has all the essentials of a travelogue.




Prof M Sami Akhtar Falahi (Chairperson, Department of Arabic) thanked the AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor for providing state-of art infrastructural facilities to the department and the university.    


Prof Salahuddin Umri delivered the welcome address, while Dr Tasneem Kausar conducted the programme. Prof M Faizan Beg proposed the vote of thanks.
