Centre For Sophisticated Instruments Facility AMU Organises Workshop On Flow Cytometry and Its Applications

 The Centre for Sophisticated Instruments Facility (USIF), Aligarh Muslim University recently organised a one-day Workshop on ‘Flow Cytometry and its Applications’. The Workshop was supported by Beckman Coulter, India.

Coordinator USIF, Professor Asad Ullah Khan, welcomed the eminent speakers, faculty members and participants. The participants from the Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences included the faculty members, researchers and students.

The emphasis of the workshop was on training the Interdisciplinary participants in this vital technique in biology and medicine with special reference to Cancer diagnosis.

Prof Asad Khan assured the procurement of the technology in USIF under the DBT-BUILDER project and its extended usage in diversified fields of application.

He urged the participants to take active part in their research using advanced technologies of the day. He also appreciated and acknowledged the amicable support of the University authorities in strengthening the central facility (USIF).

 During the Workshop, the application engineer from Beckman Coulter demonstrated the usage of the technology in great detail to the participants. Hands-on-training were given to a total of over 20 participants from different streams. Certificates of training were distributed by Prof S M Abbas Abidi in the concluding session to the successful candidates after their test was cleared.

Dr Shahper N Khan, proposed the vote of thanks and appreciated the services of the staff of the USIF.
