Cure International Team Visits Dept Of Orthopaedic Surgery, JNMC

A team of USA based Cure International with Mr Roger Spoelman (President and CEO), Mr Brian Van Hall (Chief Operating Officer) and Mr Scott Reichenbach (Clubfoot Operations Director) visited the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University. The programme was organized by Cure International India and aided by Mr Raj Sharma (Program Manager) and Ms Sangeeta Kumari (District Program Coordinator).

Cure International is working with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery for the last four years to eliminate clubfoot as a lifelong disability in Aligarh and adjoining districts.

Prof Amanullah Khan (Dean, Faculty of Medicine and Principal, JNMC) welcomed the team at the new OPD Block. He thanked the Cure International for helping the department to bring healing to children with clubfoot.

Mr Roger Spoelman appreciated the efforts of Prof Mazhar Abbas and Dr Latif Zafar Jilani who are jointly running the clubfoot clinic in JNMC, which operates on Thursdays from 11 am onwards.

Meanwhile, the visitors also met 45 children, undergoing treatment for clubfoot deformity. They also interacted with the parents of these children. 

Prof Naiyer Asif (Chairperson, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery) was present on the occasion.

Cure International is a non-profit organization, which is working for the treatment of children with conditions of clubfoot, bowed legs, cleft-lips, untreated burns and hydrocephalus in 29 countries.
