Dept Of Geography Concludes National Conference On Climate Change Sustainable Agriculture And Environment
Over 150 research papers were presented in 20 technical session with 18 sub-themes during the two-day national conference on ‘Climate Change: Sustainable Agriculture and Environment’ organised by the Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) which concluded with a valedictory function today.
Chief-Guest of the function, AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Tabassum Shahab in an absorbing and thought provoking address delineated the impact of climate change in the growth and development of new born babies. He emphasised that the objective of the research on climate change should be for the cause of humanity and for betterment of society.
Prof Bhagwan Singh Chaudhary (Renowned Geo-scientist, Kurukshetra University, Haryana) and Prof A K Singh (Eminent Scientist, NRDMS Division, Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi) were the Guests-of-Honour.
Prof Ateeque Ahmad (Chairperson and Convener of the Conference) delivered the welcome address and also proposed the vote of thanks, while Prof Syed Naushad Ahmad presented the report of the conference. Prof Mohd Shakir gave the valedictory address.
Prof Shahab Fazal conducted the programme. Around 400 delegates from various Indian universities, institutes and organisations attended the conference.
