ICSSR Grants Rs 10 Lakhs To AMU Prof For Capacity Building Programme
The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi has sanctioned a grant of Rs 10 lakhs to Professor Nizamuddin Khan (Department of Geography, Aligarh Muslim University—AMU) for organising a two-weeks ‘Capacity Building Programme’ in AMU.  
 
This programme will be held at the university’s Interdisciplinary Department of Remote Sensing and GIS Applications from April 5 to 15, 2018. The confirmation of the programme’s sanction has come through a letter from Dr Harish Sharma (In-Charge, TCB Division, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India).  
 
Prof Nizamuddin Khan, who was recently elected as the Vice President of National Association of Geographers of India will be the Director of the Capacity Building Programme, while Dr Mumtaz Ahmad will be the Deputy Director.  
 
Prof Khan is also the Organising Secretary of ‘National Conference on Role of Geo- Spatial Technologies for Good Governance and Sustainable Development’ scheduled to take place at the Interdisciplinary Department of Remote Sensing and GIS Applications from February 17 to 19, 2018.
