MBBS Batch 1992 Silver Jubilee Reunion At JNMC

It was a home coming for the alumni (MBBS batch 1992), as they celebrated Silver Jubilee Reunion at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College auditorium.  The delegates from various countries accompanied by their spouse and children had a memorable event.

The morning session was graced by the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice Chancellor Prof Tariq Mansoor, the Dean and the Principal, Prof S.C. Sharma of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC)

As per the tradition, more than 60 teachers who taught the batch were presented mementos.

Welcoming the delegates and the teachers, the Vice Chancellor Prof Tariq Mansoor, himself an alumnus, gave an elaborate account of the College and Hospital. He said , “Blessed with the twin distinction of being a graduate and faculty member for many years, I feel to be  uniquely positioned to make an appeal to my fellow alumni to come forward and help in the mission to make AMU excel in academics, researches and co-curricular activities’’.

 He emphasized importance of the role of the Medical College, in providing not only affordable treatment but also in imparting medical education.

 Prof Tariq Mansoor expressed his desire to expand the scope of the Aligarh Open University by having more regular participation and calendar of events in multiple specialties so as to harness the vast talent pool of alumni.

He urged the alumni to be part the progress and to take the University to a higher level.

Prof S.C Sharma urged the delegates to pay back to the alma mater. He added that their contribution will go a long way to elevate AMU. He also appreciated the achievements of delegates in their respective fields.

The Chairman Alumini Association, Prof Suhail  Sabir recounted his memories with most of the participants He urged the alumni to join hands with the alma mater to promote AMU as a world class educational Institution

The programme was conducted by Dr Danish Sidique (UK) and Dr Suchitra Jain ( New Delhi). Dr. Swati Singhal a leading ophthalmologist welcomed the guests. Dr Asjad Jamil introduced the batch.

 Dr Abbas Raza Rizvi gave vote of thanks to all the participants and organising secretary Dr. Ali Jafar Abedi.
