New Refresher And Orientation Programmes Launched At UGC HRDC
The UGC Human Resource Development Centre, Aligarh Muslim University launched three-week Subject Refresher Courses in Food and Bio-Technology and a four-week Orientation Programme for teachers from universities and colleges from across the country, including states like Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, New Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. A total of 80 teachers have joined these courses.
Addressing the inaugural session, Prof. A.R. Kidwai, Director of the Centre, said that the courses aimed at making the participants better persons, better teachers and better researchers. He said that educational visits and tours undertaken during the course will enable them to get acquainted with Sir Syed’s philosophy of free enquiry, large hearted tolerance and pure morality which is embodied in AMU and which emanates from various kinds of discourses here.
The course coordinator for SRC in Food and Biotechnology Professor Khursheed Alam, Department of Biochemistry, Jawharlal Nehru Medical College was present on the occasion.
Welcoming the guests and participants, Dr Faiza Abbasi said that the courses are designed for maximum enrichment of the participants, as they learn not only from the resource persons but also from each other.
