Pulmonology And ID Clinic Observes World TB Day With Free Check Up Camp For Children
 The Pulmonology and ID Clinic, Department of Paediatrics, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) observed the World TB Day—2018 on the theme of ‘Wanted Leader for TB free World’ with a free check-up medical camp for children organised at the Pulmonology and ID Clinic.
 
While conducting the camp, Professor Farzana K Baig (Chairperson, Department of Paediatrics and In-Charge, Pulmonology and ID Clinic) addressed the guardians of children, who turned up for the free check-ups. She urged them to take children immediately to doctors when they complain of regular chest infections, severe cough, fever, night sweats, weakness and loss of appetite.
 
Prof Baig further said that one-third of the world's population has been infected with M. Tuberculosis and every second, one person gets infected. “9.6 million people have fallen sick with TB in 2014 out of which one million were children,” she added.
 
Prof Harris M Khan (Chief- Guest and MS, JNMC), Prof Zuber Ahmad (Guest-of-Honor), Prof M Aslam, Prof Farida Ahmad, Prof Kamran Afzal and Dr Kashif Ali distributed prizes to the winners of poster-making and quiz competitions.
 
Dr Tanveer, Dr Atif, Dr Brajendra, Dr Vineet and Dr Tariq helped organising the event. Free medicines were distributed to the guardians of children, who attended the camp.
