UGC HRDC Organises Workshop On Right To Information For Capacity Building Of University CPIOs
University Grants Commission Human Resource Development Center (UGC HRDC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organized a training program and workshop on ‘Right to Information for Capacity Building of University CPIOs’ at the University Polytechnic auditorium.
Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai (Course Director) said that it was an opportunity for CPIOs to learn various provisions of RTI Act. He added that the programme was not possible without the support of AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor and Professor Javaid Akhter (AMU Registrar).
Dr Faiza Abbasi (Course coordinator) pointed out that the program aimed at enabling university officials to perform better in their duties as information officers.
Adv. Sarim Naved (Partner, Srivastava Naved Parashar Advocates and Solicitors, New Delhi), Adv. Sumanta De (Partner, Amicus Juris Lawyers and Advocate, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi), Adv. M Nizamuddin Pasha (Advocate, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi) and Adv. Mayank Mikhail Mukerjee (Advocate, Delhi High Court, New Delhi) attended the programme as resource persons. Mr Atiq Ahmad Khan, Assistant Registrar (Legal) was also present on the occasion.
Over 200 CPIOs of AMU from the teaching and the non-teaching communities participated in the workshop.
