The Department of Islamic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University recently organised a lecture on ‘Religious Tolerance’, in which deliberations were given by Father Dr M D Thomas.
On the occasion, Father Thomas stated that the famous Hindi Poet, Saint Kabir Das, during his life was a torch-bearer of religious tolerance and pluralism. He added that people of all religions should follow the teachings of Kabir Das for maintaining peace and harmony among followers of various religious faiths.
Eminent journalist, independent columnist and author, Ms Rana Ayub recently delivered a lecture and a book-reading session on ‘Writing as a means of protest: Issues of freedom of expression and censorship’ at the University Polytechnic Auditorium.
The lecture and the book-reading session, which was attended by over 400 teachers, students, scholars and dignitaries was organised by University Debating and Literary Club, Cultural Education Centre, AMU.
