The Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University won the Inter-faculty teachers’ cricket tournament, which was played here at the Willingdon Cricket Pavilion of the University. The social science faculty team got the runner’s trophy.

Two Day National Conference And Workshop Held At AKTC

Inaugural function of a two-day national conference on ‘Determination of Temperament (Mizaj)’ organised by the Department of Tashreeh-wa-Munafeul Aza, Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and a ‘Pre-Conference Workshop on Basal Metabolic Rate and its Measurement’ took place at the auditorium of Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College (AKTC).  
 
The Department of Tashreeh-wa-Munafeul Aza organised the programmes.

Prof Asif Hasan Receives Prestigious European Society Of Cardiology Fellowship

Professor Asif Hasan (Director, Centre of Cardiology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been awarded the prestigious ‘European Society of Cardiology’ fellowship in recognition of his significant contribution in cardiology. 
 
Prof Hasan said that there will be workshops, academic programmes and guest-lectures in JNMC in the coming months.

Dr Jibraeils book releases during 32nd Session of Rajasthan History Congress

Economy and Demographic Profile of Urban Rajasthan (Eighteenth-Nineteenth Centuries)’ authored by Dr Jibraeil (Assistant Professor, Department of History, Aligarh Muslim University—AMU) was released in the inaugural function of ‘32nd Session of Rajasthan History Congress’ at Jaipur.  
 
This book provides a comprehensive account based on original sources of Rajasthan’s demography and growth of urban centres during the 18th and 19th centuries.

Prof Niyaz Ahmad Delivers Talk On Prokaryotic Genome Evolution

Prof Niyaz Ahmad from the Department of Biotechnology, University of Hyderabad, who is a ‘Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize in Medical Sciences of India’ recipient and a senior director with the International Centre for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh delivered a talk on ‘Prokaryotic Genome Evolution’ at the Department of Zoology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

New Refresher And Orientation Programmes Launched At UGC HRDC

The UGC Human Resource Development Centre, Aligarh Muslim University launched three-week Subject Refresher Courses in Food and Bio-Technology and a four-week Orientation Programme for teachers from universities and colleges from across the country, including states like Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, New Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. A total of 80 teachers have joined these courses.
