Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) research scholar, Anas Shamsi (Department of Biochemistry) pursuing Phd under the supervision of Prof Bilqees Bano attended the International Symposium on Bioorganic Chemistry (ISBOC-11) at the University of Konstanz in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.

Shamsi presented a poster entitled ‘Probing the interaction of anticancer drug temsirolimus with human serum albumin: Molecular docking and spectroscopic insight’ at the symposium.

AMU Research Scholar Delivers Lecture In Basel

Aligarh Muslim University research scholar, Ms Asfia Shabbir from the Department of Botany has delivered a short lecture on ‘Polyacrylamide and Radiation-derived Oligosaccharides induced Regulation of Physiological Processes and Essential Oil Production in Vetiveria Zinanioides L Nash’ at the ‘65th International Congress and Annual Meeting of the Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research (GA)—2017’ in Basel, Switzerland.

US Fulbright Scholar Delivers Lecture At AMU

 Dr. Nishanta Rajakaruna, a Fulbright Scholar from USA and Professor of Botany in California University, delivered a lecture on “Herbarium Technique” addressed the questions of students, at the Department of Museology, Aligarh Muslim University.

Prof Asif A. Naqvi, Chairman, of the Department welcomed and introduced the guest speaker, while Prof Abduraheem K, conducted the programme and proposed vote of thanks.

AMU Scholar To Join Prestigious Presidency College As Assistant Professor

 Mr Md Sayad Rahman, Junior Research Fellow (BSR UGC) associated with the Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University has recently been appointed as an Assistant Professor in the prestigious Presidency College, Kolkata.

Mr Rahman, who will soon join the Presidency College’s Department of Geology has been congratulated by the AMU Administration and teachers for bringing laurels to the University.

Seerat Committee To Organise A Research Scholars Seminar

The Seerat Committee, Aligarh Muslim University has decided to organise a Research Scholars Seminar to mobilise AMU students to study and love the life of Noble Prophet, Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). The theme of the seminar is ‘Non-Muslim Perception of the Prophet of Islam.’

Eminent Journalist And Author, Ms Rana Ayub Delivers Lecture In AMU

Eminent journalist, independent columnist and author, Ms Rana Ayub recently delivered a lecture and a book-reading session on ‘Writing as a means of protest: Issues of freedom of expression and censorship’ at the University Polytechnic Auditorium.

The lecture and the book-reading session, which was attended by over 400 teachers, students, scholars and dignitaries was organised by University Debating and Literary Club, Cultural Education Centre, AMU.

AMU Scholar Returns After Attending Teaching Assistant Program In USA

 Mr Mohd Asjad Husain, Research Scholar, Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University recently returned to India after successfully completing a ten-month Full Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program in the United States of America.

Mr Husain, who was awarded the Certificate of Recognition for his distinguished services to the program also studied courses in Applied Linguistics, American Studies and continued his research in the United States while serving as a cultural ambassador of India at University of California, Davis.
