Series Of Events Organised In Mauritius As Part Of Sir Syed’s Bicentenary Celebrations

As part of world-wide Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s Bicentenary Celebrations, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), High Commission of India; Urdu Speaking Union, Mauritius and Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association (AMUAA), Mauritius organised a series of events which included exhibitions of calligraphy paintings and sculptures, a release of  ‘Commemorative Day Cover’ by Mauritius Post and a two-day academic conference on the life and works of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Indian Culture (IGCIC), Mauritius.

Professor Mohammad Gulrez To Join As Visiting Professor At University Of Colombo

India’s soft-power reach out is undergoing a makeover in spreading culture overseas, and now Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India has put trust in Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) by appointing Professor Mohammad Gulrez, former Chairman of the Department of West Asian Studies and North African Studies and Coordinator, Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies Programme in AMU on deputation as a Visiting Professor on the prestigious  ICCR Chair Abroad at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
