LABORATORIES
The department has following state-of-the-art laboratories a Workshop and Seminar Library:

HIGH VOLTAGE LABORATORY:
This lab caters the need of undergraduate, postgraduate and research students. The lab is equipped with latest high voltage testing systems. The high voltage transformer installed in the lab can generate up to 150 kV. The lab has the facility of testing breakdown characteristics of different types of Insulators. The lab has the facility of testing insulation system under cryogenic temperature.
CONTROL SYSTEM LABORATORY:

ELECTRIC DRIVES LABORATORY:
This lab caters the need of undergraduate, postgraduate and research students. The lab has AC and DC drive systems from leading manufacturers. AC drive has experiments on V/F and Vector controlled drives. The lab is also equipped with Four quadrant DC drives system. Multi-phase motor drives are under installation stage.

POWER ELECTRONICS LABOARTORY:
This lab is extensively used by undergraduate, postgraduate and research students. Most of the power electronics kits are developed in the department of Electrical Engg. The lab has experiments on various types of AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC, AC/AC converters. Additionally, experiments on thyristor based power electronics circuits are also available. Speed control of universal and DC motors are the part of Power Electronics lab.


SIMULATION LABORATORY:
The Department of Electrical Engineering has a well established simulation laboratory for simulation and computational work. Matlab/Simulink, MultiSim and other commonly used software are available for students use. Large numbers of high speed computers are available in the laboratory. LAN facilitates the internet surfing for students and staff. Presently computational facility is provided to postgraduate and research students. The department intends to extend the facility to undergraduate students and hopefully this will be done by next session.
POWER SYSTEM LABORATORY:

This lab is used for undergraduate, postgraduate students and for research purposes. The lab has HVDC simulator system and AC transmission model. Experimental setups for different types of Relays are available.
ELECTRIC MACHINES LABORATORY:
This lab caters the need of undergraduate, postgraduate and research students. The lab has experiments on AC and DC motors and alternators. Experiments on synchronisation of an alternator with grid is a part of the lab. Industry size machines are used for experimentation.
CIRCUITAND INSTRUMENTATION LABORATORY:
This lab caters the need of undergraduate, postgraduate and research students. The lab has basic experiments for UG students on various AC and DC circuits and verification of different theorems. The lab is equipped with various modern techniques of measurements systems in addition to experiments on fundamental concepts of instrumentation systems.
ADVANCED INSTRUMENTS LABORATORY:
This lab is mainly used by postgraduate and research students. The lab is equipped with latest instrumentation and measurement systems.
MICROPROCESSOR LABORATORY:
This lab is mainly used by undergraduate student. The lab has experimental kit on Intel 8085 microprocessor.
NON-CONVENTIONAL LABORATORY:
This laboratory caters the need of undergraduate students. The lab has various experiments on solar photovoltaic systems.
RESEARCH LABORATORY:
The EED has a full fledge research laboratory with the facilities of carrying out advanced research in various field of Electrical Engineering.
SEMINAR
The Department of Electrical Engineering has a well established seminar library with a large collection of books/journals/Ph.D. thesis/M.Tech. dissertations/B.Tech. projects. The seminar library is mainly used by postgraduate and research students of Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering.
COMPUTATIONAL
The Department of Electrical Engineering has a well established simulation laboratory for simulation and computational work.
